The untitled Sonic game is an upcoming video game in the Sonic the Hedgehog series. Sonic Team is developing the game, which is set to be published by Sega.

Gameplay

It is unclear if the game will feature side-scrolling gameplay like that of Sonic Mania, or 3D gameplay like that of Sonic Forces.[1]

Development

At SXSW in March 2019, Sonic Team head and Sonic the Hedgehog series producer Takashi Iizuka confirmed work on a new, major franchise title had begun, although he did not specify any details.[2][3] Later that month, Sega opened a survey so fans could submit ideas.[4]

Release

The game is unlikely to release in 2019.[1]
