Requesting help and/or suggestions to reinstate a page that was deleted last Dec.

Hello Praxideicae,

I had a page in my sandbox last year. The page was deleted for the reasons of self-promotion. I have my disclaimer listed on my profile.

As of this September, there is a new situation. The page that was deleted was about a document called the M1 Voucher. The M1 Voucher was released by an organization, Swissindo World Trust International Orbit. The organization itself never had a Wiki page and I couldn't create the organization page for the same reason as the one that was deleted - self promotion.

Since last year, someone unrelated to the organization created the page for the organization. It was published in September.

Now that the organization has a page, can related pages be created and linked to it? And can those related pages be created by someone affiliated with the organization?

To recap: My page that was deleted last year is the "M1 Voucher". The image I uploaded to Wikimedia Commons still remains. https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:M1_Voucher_provides_a_monthly_lifetime_basic_income_guaranteed_by_Swissindo_World_Trust_International_Orbit.jpg

The organization that now has a page in Wikipedia is "Swissindo World Trust International Orbit". They have linked to the M1 Voucher image on Wiki Commons. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Swissindo_World_Trust_International_Orbit

The M1 Voucher was created by Swissindo World Trust International Orbit. It is one of the main documents for which the organization is widely known. The M1 Voucher page is what I would like to reestablish now that there is a context for it.

Thank you for any help.

Removal of my edits to: List of satellite map images with missing or unclear data

The history says you rolled back my edits as "original research", but after checking the WP:OR page and comparing my edits to the existing entries on the "List of satellite map images with missing or unclear data" page I can't see what the issue is. In particular, it seems that if the two entries I added aren't referenced enough to avoid a tag of "original research" then neither are at least half the entries on the page, so I have no idea what I need to add for them to stand. A survey to improve the community consultation outreach process

Hello!

The Wikimedia Foundation is seeking to improve the community consultation outreach process for Foundation policies, and we are interested in why you didn't participate in a recent consultation that followed a community discussion you’ve been part of.

Please fill out this short survey to help us improve our community consultation process for the future. It should only take about three minutes.

The privacy policy for this survey is here. This survey is a one-off request from us related to this unique topic.

Thank you for your participation, Kbrown (WMF) 10:45, 13 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Hi

Let's not annoy everybody else by talking with each other on their pages. My concern is that admins should always leave a message when they block somebody. The exception are throw away and sock farms, maybe, where the effort to make the account is so small and the account is very likely to be abandoned. It is drilled into us admins that we have to explain blocks. (1) This helps observers understand what and why. (2) It helps the blocked understand specifically what they did wrong and how to avoid being blocked in the future. (3) It avoids controversies like the one we both just suffered. I hope we can better understand each other going forward. Sincerely, Jehochman Talk 18:35, 13 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Caterpillar84/Robyn Crawford

Hey there, thanks for weighing in on the Robyn Crawford page. I contest that her best friendship with Houston is extremely well known, not a false claim simply just now coming to light. This dates back many, many years and no one contests that this isn't fact. As for the romance part, I get what you're saying. Of course, independent people verify that they were more than just friends (on film, no less), but since Houston isn't alive to confirm or deny, perhaps we should say "alleged" or "supposed" when it comes to the lover bits. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Caterpillar84 (talkcontribs) 22:14, 14 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

One other item: The TV appearances are not minor, so it would be great if you restored that section. Crawford was the sole interviewee on NBC News's Dateline, The Wendy Williams Show, TODAY, and other outlets. These were major interviews on major networks. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Caterpillar84 (talkcontribs) 22:38, 14 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

(talk page watcher) Hiya @Caterpiller84: I'm Alfie. Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. Firstly, please read WP:SIGN to learn how to sign your talk page posts. Secondly, I would you encourage you to read the guidelines on self-published sources, WP:SELFPUB and WP:BLPSPS, to learn what is and isn't acceptable when citing somebody's autobiography or memoirs. Finally, I think a re-read of our general guidelines regarding reliable sources would be appropriate. I will leave a "further reading" list of links on your talkpage. Doonga

Hey! I Appreciate you taking the time to fix my errors on Doonga, I misread the notice as an AFD. TheEpTic (talk) 13:50, 15 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

No worries, it probably still should be deleted but unfortunately prods are pretty useless on new articles. Praxidicae (talk) 13:50, 15 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Siti Nurhaliza

Hey Alfie... I undo what you did at Siti Nurhaliza page.. the reason are, the sub topic got problem with the citations, so I remove the sub topic.. and we had plan to rewrite the sub topic with better citations. And about the concert that I was remove from the page.. the concert was not Siti Nurhaliza main concert, she just one of the guests artists in that concert.. all the deleted had been explained well in the history..

Thank you..

1.) My name is not Alfie, as you can see by the giant bolded name at the top of this page. 2.) The template you keep removing has explicit instructions and reasoning for it's placement. Read it. 3.) Stop removing it or you will be blocked. Praxidicae (talk) 20:53, 16 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

1)sorry for your name. 2) The template came because the copyright.. so remove the topic that used the copyright issue.. 3) I remove the concert from the list because there are not her concert, she just guest, why must put at her page? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2001:E68:40B7:ED25:BC49:FE26:17FE:2700 (talk) 21:01, 16 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Pharmanutra

Hello, why do you think Pharmanutra is an promotional article? In my opinion it is neutral article and the company is big and listed in stock exchange and has a lot of articles in newspaper talk about that, see here.--Kaspo (talk) 22:15, 20 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

@Kaspo: see WP:CORP - being listed on a stock exchange does not mean a company is inherently notable -- a they/them | argue | contribs 23:32, 20 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
ok, being listed is not automatic notability but I read in that page Examples of such sources include independent press coverage and analyst reports. Accordingly, article authors should make sure to seek out such coverage and add references to such articles to properly establish notability.. I included also indipendent articles and analyst reports. I added references by Reuters too.--Kaspo (talk) 08:54, 21 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
I believed it was leader just in Italy but I just found an article by Il Sole 24 Ore (the most important italian financial newspaper) PharmaNutra is the leader in its market niche in Europe and absolute number one for market share in Spain, Arab Emirates, Iran, Romania and Austria. [1]. Please think about your decision.--Kaspo (talk) 18:19, 21 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
It was heavily promotional and basically a press release. I'd also suggest you read the reasons it was deleted on itwiki as appears to have been the same problem. Praxidicae (talk) 18:20, 21 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
On itwiki was deleted years ago but the article was completely different and written by another user. That was an advertising, it's true, you can find it the sandbox here. There are a lot of articles in main italian newspapers that inclued the company in the titles and these are not press release. Please read my last url with automatic translator. Do you really think that is a press release?--Kaspo (talk) 18:42, 21 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
It might not be a press release but it appears to me to be basic funding material, which is not substantial coverage for establishing notability. Of course, I don't speak Italian and I'm relying on a translator for that assessment. Praxidicae (talk) 18:50, 21 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

AFD

Hello! I removed the unreliable sources banner because I just added a ton of highly reliable citations. Rather than call the removal "disruptive," it would be great if you researched why I removed the banner, which is actually quite the opposite of disruption. The article is in fact much improved, and there's nothing to dispute there. Thanks so much, --Caterpillar84 (talk) 19:28, 21 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

No, you removing the AFD notice is disruptive and is not allowed. The sources you've added are also unreliable or otherwise not helpful. We don't need a dozen links to where her books are published. You need to provide coverage. Praxidicae (talk) 19:29, 21 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I dispute that this removal is "not allowed." The guide for removal states: "Maintenance templates are not meant to be in articles permanently. Any user without a conflict of interest may remove a maintenance template in any of the following circumstances: 1) When the issue has been adequately addressed."

I adequately addressed the issue; the "we don't need a dozen links to where her books are published" is kind of missing the point; I placed them there as proof of her work for major publishing houses and companies such as Simon & Schuster, Disney, Penguin Random House, and more. This is a form of proof of her notability, is it not? I've previously contributed to or created articles about illustrators, and no one there disputed/had any issue with such links. They're solely intended to prove that the claims she has worked for these publishers and companies is true.

Can I also gently point out that your tone comes across as very angry and aggressive? I hope you can see that I'm doing my best to meet Wikipedia standards and I have the best intentions at heart in making positive contributions. I have created or contributed to dozens of pages without any issue from other editors. Everyone has their shortcomings, but there's no need to come at me in a threatening way. I sincerely hope that you can respect the work I'm doing and not take my actions as disruptive. I also hope we can come to an understanding re: the Syed page. Invite: Would you help hunt down more citations to strengthen the article? It would be much more appreciated than pure threatening criticism without helping. --Caterpillar84 (talk) 19:39, 21 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

@Caterpillar84: The AfD template is not a maintenance template; it is a template that advises other editors that discussion is under way about deletion of the article. Removing the template does not stop the discussion. That's why the template must remain at the top of the article until the discussion is resolved. —C.Fred (talk) 19:40, 21 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Tone is not possible to interpret over the internet. I am being direct, nothing more. And I'm not threatening you - it is very clear that you are not permitted to remove AFD notices on active discussions per the template: Feel free to improve the article, but the article must not be blanked, and this notice must not be removed, until the discussion is closed.. As far as sourcing goes, no I cannot help as I agree with the nomination and I would strongly suggest you start going through WP:AFC as several of your recent BLP creations have been highly problematic from a sourcing and copyright standpoint. Google Code-In 2019 is coming - please mentor some documentation tasks!

Hello,

Google Code-In, Google-organized contest in which the Wikimedia Foundation participates, starts in a few weeks. This contest is about taking high school students into the world of opensource. I'm sending you this message because you recently edited a documentation page at the English Wikipedia.

I would like to ask you to take part in Google Code-In as a mentor. That would mean to prepare at least one task (it can be documentation related, or something else - the other categories are Code, Design, Quality Assurance and Outreach) for the participants, and help the student to complete it. Please sign up at the contest page and send us your Google account address to google-code-in-admins@lists.wikimedia.org, so we can invite you in!

From my own experience, Google Code-In can be fun, you can make several new friends, attract new people to your wiki and make them part of your community.

If you have any questions, please let us know at google-code-in-admins@lists.wikimedia.org.

Thank you!
