Taylor "The Pocket Queen" Gordon (musician)

Taylor Gordon (born July 16, 1990), known professionally as The Pocket Queen, an American musician, music producer and artist. Her career gained prominence after several drumming videos and covers achieved viral success, garnering her millions of views on Facebook, Instagram and YouTube.

Gordon, a New Orleans native, showed interest in music at a very young age. Her parents bought Gordon her first drum set at the age of 3. By the age of 6, Gordon was playing in her local church band.

At the age of 14, Gordon relocated to Dallas and joined the marching band at Cedar Hill High School as a drummer and percussionist. While at Cedar Hill, Gordon received the Louis Armstrong award from the International Association for Jazz Education and was selected to be a member of the Texas Music Educators Association all-region band. She received superior ratings for two consecutive years for marimba solos in the University Interscholastic League. In her senior year, Gordon was honored as an outstanding performer in the league's state solo and ensemble competition [1].

After high school, Gordon attended Berklee College of Music in Boston Massachusetts on a presidential scholarship. She graduated from Berklee in 2011 with a bachelor’s degree in professional music. In 2013, Taylor relocated to Los Angeles.

Gordon has performed with various artists including Musiq Soulchild, Beyonce, Adam Lambert, Fifth Harmony, Yuna and Daya. Her televised performance appearances include The Ellen DeGeneres Show, The Late Late Show with James Corden, American Idol, Good Morning America, Live with Kelly and Ryan. Gordon was week-long featured guest on Late Night with Seth Meyers in 2018.

Gordon has produced and co-produced songs for artists like Chris Brown, Trevor Jackson (performer), Luke James, Jacob Latimore, Jennifer Hudson, Grace Gibson and Kehlani (Grammy Nominated).
