Dong Sicheng (Chinese: 董思成; pinyin: dǒng sīchéng), known professionally as Winwin (Hangul: 윈윈; Chinese: 昀昀; pinyin: yúnyún), is a mainland Chinese singer, rapper, and dancer based in South Korea and China. He is best known as a member of the South Korean K-pop boy group, NCT and its sub-units NCT 127, NCT U. He is also a member of the affiliated Chinese boy group WayV.

Early life

Winwin was born on 28 October 1997 in Lucheng District, Wenzhou, Zhejiang province, China. He has one older sister who lives in New Zealand.[1]

In 2009, Winwin was admitted to the Affiliated Secondary School of Beijing Dance Academy where he ranked first in the Chinese Classical Dance department.[2] In 2015, he was scouted by Korean entertainment company, SM Entertainment, where he subsequently became a trainee.

Winwin currently attends the Central Academy of Drama where he majors in Performing Arts.[3]

Career

Pre-debut

On 5 January 2016, Winwin was introduced as a member of SM Entertainment's pre-debut trainee group, SM Rookies.[4] On 9 April 2016, he made his appearance alongside NCT U in China at the 16th Music Feng Yun Bang Awards for their first live performance of the track "The 7th Sense".[5] He also featured on the music videos for both the Korean and Chinese versions of the NCT U track "Without You".[6]

In May of the same year, he participated in the second season of the group's variety show NCT Life.[7]

2016-2018: Debut and NCT 127

On 1 July 2016, Winwin was announced as a member of NCT's second unit, NCT 127 along with Taeil, Taeyong, Yuta, Jaehyun, Mark, and Haechan.[8] He then made his official debut as a member of NCT 127 with the title track "Fire Truck" on 7 July 2016,.[9]

On 18 February 2018, Winwin went on to debut in sub-unit, NCT U, with "Boss".[10] The track was released as part of NCT's first solo album, NCT 2018 Empathy, where he also participated in the track "Black on Black" as part of NCT 2018.[11] WinWin continued to promote with NCT 127 until the end of 2018.

On 22 November 2018, it was announced that Winwin would not be participating in NCT 127's comeback activities for the repackaged edition of their first studio album, Regular-Irregular, titled Regulate, in order to prepare for his debut in China.[12]

2019-present: WayV and solo endeavours

Winwin made his Chinese debut as part of Chinese boy group WayV on 17 January 2019, with lead single "Regular" off their first single album The Vision.[13] Winwin had previously participated in the English and Korean versions of the song as part of NCT 127 the previous year.

On 30 March 2019, Winwin joined as a cast member of Hunan Television's My Brilliant Masters, alongside Wowkie Zhang, Yu Xiaoguang, and Liu Yuning.[14]
