Broad economic interests (also but not only banking) are certainly one of the main advantages of remaining neutral. Another good reason is the loss of life and general damage caused by war. In the case of Switzerland there are also historic reasons at play. Finally perhaps the example of Denmark (which was eventually invaded), Sweden or Ireland are also not attributable only to banking. undo
