Clarification needed[edit]

I was unable to make this block of text make sense - anyone want to take a stab at re-writing for clarity?

In bangalore Devanga community as a part of devala maharshi jayanthi celebration conduct national level basket ball championship. In Bangalore one can find andra devanga sangam of telugu devangas and devanga sangha run by kannada speaking devangas.Devanga sahgha in bangalore has a choultry/marriage hall which can be booked online.Spread of devanga community is mainly attributed to the krishnadevraya's era i.e, between 1505to 1520 where in his empire was spread to all the present four states of South India.

The caste claims to be descended from Devala, an ancient Hindu sage.[5] They originated from Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka, and during the reign of the Vijayanagara Empire they migrated to Tamil Nadu.[6] They are of Shudra status in the Hindu caste system.[7][8][9][10] However, they use the Devanga Purana, a text sacred to the Devangas, to claim Brahmin status, despite having a non-Brahmin profession.[11][12] They replaced their native local gotras with Sanskritic gotras.[13]
