Okay, we need to talk about standardizing dates. the use of the word 'the' in dates makes the very blunt text more grammatically correct, but also prevents us from using regional dialects of English. This is problematic because on most articles about Indian people we see the same Indiaisms which get edited and subsequently reverted.
