This article claims to be about the city proper. Then it mentions the LV Valley and even shows pictures of the strip which are NOT within LV proper. This is a factual encyclopedia. I think the article should only depict the city proper; otherwise, it should purport to be about the LV area in general, including but not limited to, the city itself. Pictures of Las Vegas - mismatch with descriptions

I see there are 6 photos of Las Vegas, and there are 7 descriptions. So is one photo missing, or is there one description too many? I do not feel qualified to fix this. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 80.80.178.116 (talk) 12:58, 30 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Add the following under 'Culture': "In 2019, The New York Times called Las Vegas a surprising “literary hub” and noted that this “bookish culture" centered around The Beverly Rogers, Carol C. Harter Black Mountain Institute at UNLV,  and its magazine The Believer, and The Writer’s Block bookstore." Source [1] LA566 (talk) 02:31, 15 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Not done. Already done at Las Vegas Valley#Culture and the arts. This page's section is supposed to be shorter, and an upcoming literary scene should be described at the main section.  Ganbaruby! (Say hi!) 14:21, 19 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

The elephant in the room.

Currently, the article lacks any mention of organized crime, the mafia or prostitution. Anybody have the wherewithal to fill these gaps? — Preceding unsigned comment added by FunkyWags (talkcontribs) 22:43, 4 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Incorrect picture captions?

The first and third picture captions at the top of the page may be incorrect. The first picture shown is not "Downtown Las Vegas". It is obviously a picture of some of the hotels and other high rise buildings along the Strip and I-15. I'm not sure what this should be called instead, since there already is a picture and caption for the "Las Vegas Strip". Also, the fourth caption "Stratosphere Tower Las Vegas" may be obsolete. I know this hotel changed its name to "The STRAT", but I'm not sure what the tower is called (SkyPod?). Bunkyray5 (talk) 02:06, 24 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

City proper or Metropolitan area?

This article claims to be about the city proper. Then it mentions the LV Valley and even shows pictures of the strip which are NOT within LV proper. This is a factual encyclopedia. I think the article should only depict the city proper; otherwise, it should purport to be about the LV area in general, including but not limited to, the city itself. 71.226.227.121 (talk) 10:24, 12 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
