Given there's not even an infobox, how does this meet the quality standards of a B-class article? The title of the article doesn't even sound encyclopedic. Likewise, the format seems a bit all over the place and off putting to a reader. I've added the Architecture project hoping to get a fresh assessment and recommendations.[[User:ZarhanFastfire|ZarhanFastfire]] ([[User talk:ZarhanFastfire|talk]]) 07:12, 4 March 2020 (UTC)

== This article needs work. Lotsa work. ==

I've put an "Essay" hatnote at the top of the page, along with "bare urls" I've also put a lot of "cites needed" tags, both for sections and individual sentences or paragraphs. Overall, it contains an awful lot of opinion (see the very first sentence of the lead) and is short on cites. I will try going through to reduce the excessive opinion and editorialising, but anyone who knows about Regina is welcome to try their hand at improving it. Layout[edit]

Far be it from me to get in the way of the world's slowest edit war, but is there a chance editors could come to the talk page to discuss the header for the footnotes section? A quick look at Wikipedia:Layout suggests to me that "Notes" is the recommmended header for the section, but if I'm wrong on this, I'm open to having it explained to me. --Sturm 19:26, 11 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Outside opinions[edit]

Further to the above, I asked about this at Wikipedia talk:Layout. Editors may be interested in the responses. --Sturm 14:12, 16 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

NPOV?[edit]

C'mon… "is now being intelligently developed along commercial lines with the historic buildings jealously retained."

No sources and definitely not NPOV. If you want to quote the mayor saying it's intelligent or that the city plan is "jealous", fine (dig up the sources); but an encyclopedia can't use this type of language in this way. Jep Tong (talk) 03:23, 26 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Man, this is one of a handful of articles to refer to the "eclipse" of train transport: the trains still roll on steel every day and every night (moving untold thousands of tons of goods and grain) and it is merely passenger transport that was axed in Regina. A brief glance at the city on google maps will reveal that the city is still organized around a series of industrial clusters, and it is not a coincidence that there's a rail junction (and a loading/unloading platform) inside each one.

The passenger terminal was turned into a casino by the government: why not admit this openly? Meanwhile, the trains still run, but they're exclusively industrial: the trains still pass by, it's just that normal people no longer have the option of traveling that way.

I'm guessing there's some kind of cultural sense of embarrassment about this that is covered over with terms like "the eclipse of train transport". Either we're talking about economic reality or we're not; the fact that there are a few nightclubs in the warehouse district doesn't equate to a transformation of that part of the city. Have you not noticed that these "new" developments are situated right next to the billiard clubs and at least one boxing club, all dating back to the 1930s if not earlier?

A lot of this sounds like small-town boosterism, not an encyclopedia article. Are you trying to sell real estate or are you trying to describe the human geography of the city? Jep Tong (talk) 03:33, 26 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Beth Jacob, Regina[edit]

In the article, under the subtitle 'Germantown Proper' there is an item suggerting that the Jewish community in Regina is diminishing. The suggested 'reasons' seem to be excuses only. i believe that our city is able to support a vital Jewish community. The absence of a resident Rabbi seems to be a symptom of decline. I wish to hear (or read) from others with similar sentiments. RCNesland (talk) 08:51, 15 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Nothing to do with "decline" in numbers of people with this or that origin; only that as with other Canadians, interest in religious practice is significantly less than in the past. And for that matter intermarriage not less. Not bad or good; just a fact. Masalai (talk) 20:56, 15 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

B class?[edit]

This article needs work. Lotsa work.[edit]
