This article has some major issues
I guess whoever drafted the article probably drafted this before or during the outbreak; because a lot of the wording is present and sometimes even future tense.

That might have very well been a true statement on April 2nd when the outbreak was happening but it no longer is true now. ALL past and present tense wording needs to either be changed to past tense or be removed entirely. Remember, Wikipedia is NOT a newspaper. :I do agree with the people on the talk page of Tornadoes of 2024 who say that there shouldn’t be any drafting of an article of this nature until after the tornadoes are over and damage surveys start coming in. ::Yes. My house was hit by a tornado in this outbreak at 4am on the second. The stonefort tornado. I was there. The first tornado of the day was NOT in Evansville. 157.185.115.191 (talk) 02:19, 12 April 2024 (UTC)
:::Yeah, so the weird tense is because some kid made this article BEFORE the event even happened, based entirely on SPC outlooks and hype. He apparently had no idea that this isn't allowed. Gave him a real serious talking to and I can assure you he won't try anything like that again. The derecho element and sheer number of this event makes it notable though, even if underperformed in terms of intense, long-tracked tornadoes.

:Yup, we had an entire 3-hour long talk about it. Like you said, the sheer numbers of tornadoes in the outbreak warrants an article. MemeGod ._. (talk) 15:18, 13 April 2024 (UTC)

Times listed are STILL WRONG!
The times listed are still an hour behind. Using West Virginia as an example. The tornado hit the Wayne County area at roughly 10:30AM EDT (which is 14:30 UTC).

You all have the time listed as 13:30 UTC (which would translate to 9:30AM EDT). The time you have listed is an hour behind the actual time (and thus an hour wrong!). Please correct the list!! 2601:5C5:4201:68B0:1944:733A:747A:2B8F (talk) 02:08, 17 April 2024 (UTC)

:I kept inserting the correct time whenever a new tornado was confirmed and it kept getting undone and it gets listed in the wrong time. 2601:5C5:4201:68B0:1944:733A:747A:2B8F (talk) 02:11, 17 April 2024 (UTC)
::If you actually click on the links to the damage survey(s), you’ll find that the local time for many of these tornadoes in West Virginia was around 10:30AM to 11:00AM in the morning. West Virginia is in the Eastern time zone; and the event happened on April 2nd, which meant that daylight savings time was active. So factoring in DST, the correct UTC time conversion is EDT + 4 hours and CDT + 5 hours. I haven’t checked the tornadoes listed in the Central time zone; but whoever keeps converting the times is doing so by only adding 3 hours instead of 4 hours to the EDT time. Eastern time is 4 hours behind UTC; NOT 3 hours. I want this fixed ASAP that way no one is misled by the time listed. :::Update: the UTC times are still listed as one hour earlier than the actual time the tornadoes hit. 2601:5C5:4380:FD80:50A0:DC39:51BF:2244 (talk) 04:38, 19 April 2024 (UTC)

Can someone please archive many of these above topics that are now unnecessary on here?
Can someone please archive and remove the following entries from this talk page? 2601:5C5:4201:68B0:8D33:6C67:6107:2135 (talk) 04:52, 24 April 2024 (UTC)

:1. The entry saying that the article (had) major issues. Including the tense of the article being wrong. They have since been fixed.
:2. The entry saying that the UTC times are still wrong; as they have since been fixed.
:3. The entry requesting that the name of the article be changed to include the fact that it was a derecho, since it the name of the article has since been changed. ::I tried to remove them myself (not knowing at the time that I had did it wrong); and someone reverted the edit and said it was supposed to be archived. Can someone please archive and remove the above points; especially the one about the UTC times being wrong (because someone could erroneously change the times and it would be an hour off again). :A bot will archive the talk sections 5-6 days after the last message. I.e. this section (if no one else comments) should be archived around April 30th. Noting I just sent the bot up for this, hence why no archives have occurred yet as of this message. Suggestions for a few pictures…

There are some pictures from the NWS office in Charleston that shows the tornado damage. Definitely fits Wikipedia’s copyright guidelines because it is in the public domain. 108.147.10.55 (talk) 17:57, 11 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I’ll also add that while very thoughtful on the editor’s part. Most of these pictures don’t really fit with what one would expect to find on a Wikipedia article about a tornado outbreak. And I think these pictures should be replaced with for example pictures of the damage caused by the tornadoes (or if we can find one, a picture of the tornado itself). But I will suggest to whoever put these pictures on here; that while Wikipedia is probably not the best place to put these. They’d be a perfect picture to put on Wikimedia Commons (that is literally the purpose of Commons is a free media repository). 108.147.10.55 (talk) 02:00, 12 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
There are also pictures of the tornado damage on that damage assessment toolkit that at least one editor put a link to in the reference section. 108.147.10.55 (talk) 20:23, 12 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Also PD like all other NOAA images I’ll add. 108.147.10.55 (talk) 20:29, 12 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Yea, that's my bad. Most of the images (like the hail one) were the only images from the outbreak until a few days ago, and so I used what I could. Feel free to change them. MemeGod ._. (talk) 15:20, 13 April 2024 (UTC) !nosine![reply]
