The image Image:UAE FA.jpg is used in this article under a claim of fair use, but it does not have an adequate explanation for why it meets the requirements for such images when used here. lead

The lead says they hosted the 2019 edition, which is correct, but can you add that they were defeated by the eventual champions Qatar? I was unable to do it due to the protection. TTTTRZON (talk) 15:06, 31 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Not done: The page's protection level has changed since this request was placed. You should now be able to edit the page yourself. If you still seem to be unable to, please reopen the request with further details. – NJD-DE (talk) 17:13, 5 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Layout

This article does not comply with Wikipedia:WikiProject Football/National teams template. Could whoever has administrator access please amend this / revert the page to its previous layout? Felixsv7 (talk) 08:57, 2 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Versions

a) Special:Permalink/1027033969

b) Special:Permalink/1027034117

(b) My argument for (b) is as follows: It is currently being used on the majority of national team pages, divides out Coaching staff and Players, shows Competitive history in its expanded form, has Player records following Players in order to allow users an easy comparison and separates out Head-to-head records. I feel that this is a more accessible layout for the page but would be interested to hear your thoughts? Felixsv7 (talk) 18:25, 5 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

The layout (a) tries to merge the sections you proposed because they are topic-related, such as "Record" include many types of records: tournament, head-to-head and individual records, so we have smaller number of sections, and the page overall look less messy, while the aim is still the same as yours, what's the difference? 2402:800:6173:41ED:DCCB:9415:9558:67BE (talk) 19:04, 5 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
So the point in complying with the template is to maintain consistency across all of the National team pages. In organising players and staff under "Member", what do you achieve? It is not a descriptive section header and does not accurately describe the information contained within it. The collapsing of the Competitive records makes the page less usable and by not having Player records directly underneath the Player section, you make it harder to compare the two sections. Finally, less sections is not necessarily something to aspire to, especially if it makes the page less accessible, which I believe your version does. I have not reverted your latest amendment yet but I believe that with @Badass Flare:, we have formed a consensus for version (b) therefore you shouldn't revert our edits until you have a majority of opinion. Felixsv7 (talk) 19:44, 5 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
(b) The difference is huge when you mix the rivalry section with the history section and the only argument you've provided is that it was short, claiming the template looks "messy" is subjective. You claim we weren't against your older edits yet a similar incident occurred in October of 2020 where I tried to change it back but you kept on reverting my changes (Special:Contributions/2402:9D80:21F:7D41:DF51:4A4F:6122:F009, Special:Contributions/2402:9D80:249:6074:0:0:8FDD:D237 and Special:Contributions/2402:9D80:24C:2CEE:0:0:8E6A:E5A5) , just because the page was left for a while doesn't mean we never opposed it. Trying to force the rivalry section into the history section makes it look "messy" too. You also need to provide another example of a national team page that resembles your "unique" layout as it stands almost, if not all national team pages look very similar to the Wikipedia:WikiProject Football/National teams templates. Badass Flare (talk) 19:52, 5 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Felix: Member means members of the team including the technical staff and the playing squad, how is it not descriptive? Collapse records is to make the page short and easy to navigate, if one wants to see the data they can just click open. Why do you need to compare player records with players?, they are not at all related. I don't really understand how is it not accessible, if you want to look for technical staff you immediately take on member section, or if you want to see an individual record you look at the record section. 2402:800:6173:41ED:DCCB:9415:9558:67BE (talk) 21:09, 5 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Badassflair: the rivalries section shouldn't have existed in the first place, it is a subjective assumption by someone to decide to mention only specific opponents. I concede that not many page followed this new layout but why follow the wikiproject proposed layout anyway? It have many flaws and is not suitable for every pages (including this page which has less information than some other national football team pages), that's why we need to develop and try a better format. 2402:800:6173:41ED:DCCB:9415:9558:67BE (talk) 21:27, 5 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

What do you mean by "the rivalries section shouldn't have existed in the first place" and "mention only specific opponents"? Do you even know what a rivalry is? Also why is the wikiproject so flawed? Is your new layout somehow better because it's more simple? Don't you think you're being too subjective with your layout? Badass Flare (talk) 21:35, 5 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
You have also edited the United Arab Emirates women's national football team page despite clear opposition to the layout. Please revert. Felixsv7 (talk) 21:58, 5 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Felix: opposition isn't clear, of course these edits always meet some initial opposition but afterwards you guys will understand.2402:800:6173:41ED:E147:36C8:6AAA:920A (talk) 01:29, 6 June 2021 (UTC) Badass: I'm not subjective I'm trying to explain in reasons in a most objective view possible.2402:800:6173:41ED:E147:36C8:6AAA:920A (talk) 01:29, 6 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
