Open tasks As a reminder, the legacy javascript globals (like accessing wgPageName without first assigning it a value or using mw.config.get('wgPageName') instead) are deprecated. If your user scripts make use of the globals, please update them to use mw.config instead. Miscellaneous For people interested in creating user scripts or gadgets using TypeScript, a types-mediawiki package (GitHub, NPM) is now available that provides type definitions for the MediaWiki JS interface and the API. A GitHub organization has been created for hosting codebases of gadgets. I ran across your excellent work when I recently forked a user highlighter script. Here's my fork. One of the features I added to the fork was highlighting for users with more than 10k edits. I created my own JSON list of users with 10k+ edits here. Anyway, from looking at the code, it looks like you have bots set up that do SQL queries and create a JSON user list in the correct format, running monthly. I was wondering if, instead of me re-inventing the wheel, that you might be willing to generate the 10k list on a monthly basis? It looks like you're very busy, so please only look into this if it's quick and easy for you. Here's the SQL code. A request for comment is in progress to remove F7 (invalid fair-use claim) subcriterion a, which covers immediate deletion of non-free media with invalid fair-use tags. A request for comment seeks to grant page movers the delete-redirect userright, which allows moving a page over a single-revision redirect, regardless of that redirect's target. A request for comment asks if sysops may place the General sanctions/Coronavirus disease 2019 editnotice template on pages in scope that do not have page-specific sanctions? There is a discussion in progress concerning automatic protection of each day's featured article with Pending Changes protection. Technical news When blocking an IPv6 address with Twinkle, there is now a checkbox with the option to just block the /64 range. When doing so, you can still leave a block template on the initial, single IP address' talkpage. When protecting a page with Twinkle, you can now add a note if doing so was in response to a request at WP:RfPP, and even link to the specific revision. There have been a number of reported issues with Pending Changes. Most problems setting protection appear to have been resolved (phab:T273317) but other issues with autoaccepting edits persist (phab:T275322). Arbitration By motion, the discretionary sanctions originally authorized under the GamerGate case are now authorized under a new Gender and sexuality case, with sanctions authorized for all edits about, and all pages related to, any gender-related dispute or controversy and associated people. Sanctions issued under GamerGate are now considered Gender and sexuality sanctions. The Kurds and Kurdistan case was closed, authorizing standard discretionary sanctions for the topics of Kurds and Kurdistan, broadly construed. I was creating a page for Orbit Culture band but the old page got deleted about 2 years ago due to lack of references. This new one I created has reliable references but since the old one was already removed, I used a new title like this: Orbit Culture (band). here is the draft for it: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:Orbit_Culture_(band) I'd appreciate it if you could look into this new one and replace it with the old one. here is the old page that got removed 2 years ago: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion/Orbit_Culture It's written that "no further edits should be made to this page." so I made a new article for that. No, I wasn't the one who deleted the page, nor nominated it - I'm not an Admin, so don't have the power to delete, that was Sandstein, and the nominator was admin Anachronist. I just looked at the page as it was and offered my opinion, naturally I can't remember what it looked like at the time! That said, the page was recreated more recently, and deleted by Deb in February - "A7: No credible indication of importance (individuals, animals, organizations, web content, events): Multiple reasons: speedy deletion criteria G4, G11". That said, your draft I don't think is anywhere near G11, and A7 doesn't seem to apply either, as there is at least a credible claim to importance. As was mentioned in the deletion discussion, the threshold you need to meet is GNG, where the crux of the matter is whether your sources accept self-promotional content. Looking at the sources, it's hard for me to make a judgement on that, so possibly needs bringing up at the Reliable Sources Noticeboard. In the meantime I've had a look through the archives there - Wikipedia:Reliable_sources/Noticeboard/Archive_153#Thrash Hits mentions Metal Injection, I can't find any references to Stormbringer, not even on German Wikipedia. For Distorted Sound Magazine, there's a page detailing advertising. If "full page ad" means an article, i.e. Sponsored Content, that's self promotional, so the source isn't reliable.
