Hello GAAWiki23. The nature of your edits gives the impression you have an undisclosed financial stake in promoting a topic, but you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a category of conflict of interest (COI) editing that involves being compensated by a person, group, company or organization to use Wikipedia to promote their interests. Undisclosed paid advocacy is prohibited by our policies on neutral point of view and what Wikipedia is not, and is an especially serious type of COI; the Wikimedia Foundation regards it as a "black hat" practice akin to black-hat search-engine optimization.

Paid advocates are very strongly discouraged from direct article editing, and should instead propose changes on the talk page of the article in question if an article exists. If the article does not exist, paid advocates are extremely strongly discouraged from attempting to write an article at all. At best, any proposed article creation should be submitted through the articles for creation process, rather than directly.

Regardless, if you are receiving or expect to receive compensation for your edits, broadly construed, you are required by the Wikimedia Terms of Use to disclose your employer, client and affiliation. You can post such a mandatory disclosure to your user page at User:GAAWiki23. The template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=GAAWiki23|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}. If I am mistaken – you are not being directly or indirectly compensated for your edits – please state that in response to this message. Otherwise, please provide the required disclosure. In either case, do not edit further until you answer this message. Theroadislong (talk) 13:01, 19 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Apologies, I have since edited further as I am fairly new to Wikipedia and didn't notice your message.
I can confirm that I do not have an undisclosed financial stake in promoting this topic. The topic I have chosen is a member of the Gaelic athletics association, an amateur sport of which I am a fan.
The governing body for St Finbarrs GAA Coventry is Warwickshire GAA which currently has a Wikipedia page along with another member "John Mitchells Hurling Club".
As one of the most successful clubs within Warwickshire GAA I feel it needs a wikipedia page. I have since added more sources to support this, GAAWiki23 (talk) 14:11, 19 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Which sources do you consider to be unreliable? I have referenced independent websites and news articles which state facts, statistics and eye witness accounts. GAAWiki23 (talk) 16:32, 19 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
First of all, I can't make heads or tails of those references. There are citations in the text, then there's a cluster of notes without text, then there's the list of references, and then there's another huge cluster of notes followed by a list. Clean that up--it's a mess. Look at Together for the Netherlands, and follow that format. Second, the references that I see (but it's not clear which part of the text many of those are supposed to verify) establish facts and scores, but I don't see any that actually prove the organization is of encyclopedic value and passes our notability requirements, which are found in WP:GNG and, for an organization, WP:NCORP. Simply existing is not enough of a reason for encyclopedic notability, and being a club playing in that Warwickshire GAA, whose notability is already in question, is not, I think, notable in its own right.
In addition, I can't help but wonder if a. you don't have a conflict of interest with either of these two organizations, and b. if this is your only account here. Drmies (talk) 16:39, 19 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I am new to Wikipedia, this is my first topic. I am a GAA fan and intend to create pages and provide info for all notable clubs. There is no conflict of interest. GAAWiki23 (talk) 16:54, 19 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I have since noted which references apply to each section by pasting the number in the relevant places. I haven’t done this before as you may be able to tell. GAAWiki23 (talk) 16:58, 19 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
OK--I don't know what you did, but there's still two clusters of notes at the bottom of the page, each followed by a list. PUT THE NOTE at the end of the sentence it verifies. LOOK at the article I linked and see how it does it. Drmies (talk) 17:04, 19 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
