Allegations of bias on Ben Oquist page

Gumsaint. I'm formerly warning you to please stop your ill-informed edits on the Ben Oquist wikipedia page. You have a politicized and conspiratorial view, with highly selective sources and your perception of Mr Oquist is deeply inaccurate. What you're doing may very well be a form of cyber-stalking or cyber-bullying and even potentially liable. So please heed this warning which I am making as the first step of a process which, if you do not respond, will result in request for restriction of your access and editing privileges and further legal response. — Preceding unsigned comment added by THBTAI (talkcontribs) 06:17, 12 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

THBTAI It's simply a matter of making your own edits and supporting them with appropriate citations. The content as it appears reflects the public record, but by all means make edits as you will. Rather than simply delete the content you don't like please do present an alternate view. --Gumsaint (talk) 06:28, 19 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

THBTAI This person is a troll who writes anti-factual Wikipedia based on highly selective sources. He should have his wikipedia access removed. Mate, get a life and stop your campaign of ignorance which is clearly based on a personal gripe. You know it is so. Admit it and log off.

THBTAI My only personal gripe is with the accuracy of the public record. I have little further interest beyond that in relationship to the subject. I encourage you again to make edits that are properly referenced and unbiased and better reflect what you believe to be an accurate portrayal. If this page were to go to adjudication the prospect of me having access removed on the basis of my edits is zero. Gumsaint (talk) 00:28, 19 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Judith Brett

Hi, this article does not qualify for WP:BLPPROD as it has a reference that confirms some of the information in the article. References before a blp prod do not have to be reliable to count under this policy. I have no connection and had never heard of her before reading the prod and article yesterday: the reason I deprodded was that google scholar shows she has well cited works (over 200 for some) which is a major notability test for academics. The article needs improving but there are hundreds of thousands of similar cases. To pursue deletion AFD will be needed, thanks Atlantic306 (talk) 17:14, 18 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

It needs improving but never will be like so many others thereby bringing Wikipedia into further disrepute Atlantic306.

No objections to you rephrasing it that way (or something similar). "In the past Jones's has professed to a lack of confidence about his opposition to voluntary euthanasia. In the Australian parliament he has voted against euthanasia enabling laws in the Northern Territory" was an extremely contorted couple of sentences. The Drover's Wife (talk) 00:18, 12 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

My bad - I'll see what I can do. Thanks again. Gumsaint (talk) 00:20, 12 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Bias on Ben Oquist Page

I have made some minor edits to the Ben Oquist page to remove bias and some incorrect referencing. I have noted that his issue has been raised with you before. The sources you are quoting are not accurate and the words you are using are incorrect and bias against Oquist. The edits that have been made are to remove this bias while retaining factual information. — Preceding unsigned comment added by KateO15 (talkcontribs) 01:13, 19 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. I see you have reversed my amendments and included the following Senator Milne had described him as an adherent to a hierarchical administrative structure [note: this is correct and could be referenced], citing this as the reason behind his subsequent departure from his role on the Greens staff.[11] Following revelations of his involvement in the attack on Milne's leadership he stepped down from a long-term involvement.[11]. I cant see where the link you have referenced refers to anything other than the first part of the sentence. Can you please let me know, otherwise I think my amendment needs to stand. If you agree are you happy to reverse your changes? Thanks — Preceding unsigned comment added by KateO15 (talkcontribs) 03:24, 19 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]
It is fully and accurately referenced KateO15 . Here is the quote: "Senator Milne said the flat administrative structure she imposed when she took over from Bob Brown was the reason Mr Oquist had moved on. I think Ben had a view that it should be more hierarchical, she said." Gumsaint (talk) 03:32, 19 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Hi. What about the second sentence? If the quote is about the structure then how can it be applied to the "attack on Milne's leadership"? — Preceding unsigned comment added by KateO15 (talkcontribs) 04:14, 19 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]
It simply means they didn't get on. Gumsaint (talk) 05:08, 19 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Hi. So should it be there if it cant be referenced. It has already been said so is repetitive, doesn't add any new information and lends it perception of bias. — Preceding unsigned comment added by KateO15 (talkcontribs) 06:35, 19 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]
It is referenced - I'm not clear why you can't see that - I've also provided the quote from the article in the SMH article cited in the footnotes. It's hardly bias; it's the explanation of what happened and why. Gumsaint (talk) 07:04, 19 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Please do not remove content or templates from pages on Wikipedia, as you did to Lambley, Nottinghamshire, without giving a valid reason for the removal in the edit summary. Your content removal does not appear to be constructive and has been reverted. If you only meant to make a test edit, please use the sandbox for that.

You deleted a new sub-heading, correctly added sourced content, and both formatted refs without stating adequate reasons. I can see you have a history of deletions at this article.

The Crematorium is a facility, a local-government funded provision provided at major cost; there are no commercial considerations so allusions to advertising are irrelevant, hence it is of local and encyclopaedic value. I included the road-name as it is in countryside between two settlements.

I am not a beginner to be bullied and I am aware of WP:DTTR, but looking at your worklist shows not a lot of regularity and quite a lot of red.--86.29.222.228 (talk) 03:58, 15 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Good grief...if we are referencing local crematoriums on locality pages what next? I've removed it from my watch list as the issue is too boring to discuss. Gumsaint (talk) 04:26, 15 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Reversed deletions to Ben Oquist page

Hello. I have reversed your deletions to the Ben Oquist page as the text was factual and appropriately referenced. — Preceding unsigned comment added by KateO15 (talkcontribs) 03:59, 18 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

ok thanks

On some issues - when an ed takes an off wiki email into open space - that's where the conversation ends, for me anyways, thanks for replying, cheers. The more is the pity as there were a number of issues that would have been useful to discuss, but hey - thats it! JarrahTree 02:34, 9 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

  • Beats me, seemed like pretty routine edits. Maybe try rewording them if you think it misrepresents anything. Bit of a red flag when the author of the major recent edits has closed the account Gumsaint (talk) 02:53, 9 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
you have been on wikipedia so long and you cannot identify a blocked account? The editor you have undone most of the edits at Marr's bio, is now WP:BLOCKed, that is hardly closing an account. There is nothing routine about the blocked editor's edits or your edits - notwithstanding WP:BLP - there is a very different position on the subject in the article before and after. The hagiography of any living person is always a problem - and it works both ways - either the inflation or deflation of an individual's position/role etc., sends very clear messages to watchers - who, if they are admins - have learnt to smell out a range of issues that might or not pre-empt various actions.JarrahTree 04:21, 9 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I suppose if the range of your experience in the world of wikipedia is limited to https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:CentralAuth?target=Gumsaint less than 2,000 edits in eight years, I probably expect too much. My problem is the over assertive arrogance of volume of edits and time in the madhouse, and as a former resident of Tasmania a certain cyncial attitude towards mainlanders lack of understanding of some of the nuances of Tasmanian politics and collective psyche, let alone the intriguing world of green politics. JarrahTree 04:42, 9 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
If I told some folk outside the Wikipedia bubble I had done over 1000 edits on Wikipedia they would categorise me as completely obsessive regardless of the time period. In this case I seem to remember I originated the entry and have had close connections to Tasmanian media but none of that should matter; most of the public record demonstrates that Marr was and is a divisive figure.
