WikiProject userbox templates

WikiProject userbox templates add any page on which they are placed to the corresponding WikiProject member category. To disable this feature, add a nocat=true parameter to the template invocation, e.g., {{User WikiProject Hawaii|nocat=true}}. I have added these parameters to the templates in your sandbox. If you wish to add yourself to these WikiProjects, place the templates on your userpage without the nocat=true parameter. Please let me know if I can be of any assistance. Select the county you are interested in from the drop down menu. Click off all the check marks except for National Register Properties. Then click on Search. Find the record you are interested in. Put the cursor over "National Register listing" for that record. Right click on "National Register listing" and choose "Open Link in New Window" (Firefox) or "Open in New Window" (Internet Explorer). That does it for me. Let me know if you need any more help. Best Regards -Nv8200p talk 15:44, 4 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I'll look at the unsourced paragraphs. In the meantime, I split the English articles. But the French have fr:Haden Harrison Edwards... that needs to be fixed... WhisperToMe (talk) 18:21, 6 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Location map label

It looks like the syntax changed, but I added back the old syntax as optional. Let me know if it is still not working. Thanks! Plastikspork ―Œ(talk) 23:17, 12 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Re your message: Not a problem. The talk page I had deleted was an orphaned talk page. An IP had started an attempt at writing an article about the house, but did not get very far. There was very little written and not enough to move into article space, so I deleted it. -- Gogo Dodo (talk) 04:01, 3 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Disambiguation link notification

Hi. When you recently edited Bettina, Texas, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Freethinker (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Friedrich Armand Strubberg

Hello Maile66, thanks for the correction - of course Strubberg claimed to be the great-great-grandson of Frederick I. In general Barba's biography is full of assumptions and mainly based on Strubberg's own wrtitings, which in my opinion are mostly "pseudo-autobiographical". For exmaple his assertion to have fought in the Mexican-American war as Captain: I doubt that, because he was in Texas until the end of 1847, and the last battles of the war were fought in Sept. of that year. Also in April 1848 he was in Texas, when the case regarding the Nassau Plantation came to its end and Strubberg got $3.000 from the Adelsverein as compensation for not fulfilling the lease contract (see James C. Kearney, Nassau Plantation. The Evolution of a Texas German Slave Plantation. Denton, TX: University of North Texas Press 2010). He also is not enlisted in the Roster of the Mexican War Veterans (Robarts, Wm. Hugh: Mexican War Veterans. A Complete Roster of the Regular and Volunteer Troops in the War between the United States and Mexico, from 1846 to 1848. Wshington, D.C. 1887).FAStrubberg (talk) 12:25, 28 January 2012 (UTC)FAStrubberg[reply]

I appreciate your input. We should try to get this article as accurate as possible. Verifiable, of course. You would seem to have access to German resources on this person. A year or two ago, all I knew about this person was as a mysterious Dr. Schubbert with an alleged murder in his past. Information comes in pieces. As for the end of the Mexican-American War, the Wikipedia article dates the end as February 1848. I'm not discounting anything you say, but hopefully this can all be verified for the article. Whatever you can add and verify only makes it a better article.Maile66 (talk) 12:40, 28 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I am the editor of the "Marburger Ausgabe" and also the author of the german Wikipedia article about Strubberg. Marburg is about 50 miles south of Kassel and the state archive of the former Landgrafschaft Hessen-Kassel is located here. I am writing my doctoral dissertation about Strubberg and therefore try to evaluate every source regarding Strubberg's life and works (and that is less enough...). Ironically the most important documents are not located in Texas or in Germany, but in the Beinecke Rare Manuscript Library of the Yale University: The Archives of the Adelsverein (which were sold from the Solms-Braunfels family archives to an unknowm buyer in the US in the late 1960s) and the so-called "Strubberg Collection", which contains letters and other documents regarding Strubberg. These documents were originally part of the Solms-Braunfels Archives and were ripped out from the original volumes, probably in the early/mid 1960s. Transcripts of the Solms-Braunfels Archives were made in the 1920s and are located in the Center for American History, University of Texas (James Kearney used these transcripts for his book about the Nassau Plantation). Irene Marshall King's work about Meusebach is - at least regarding Strubberg - not objective, because he was Meusebach's most bitter opponent, and Marschall King was Meusebach's granddaughter. This or next year (depends on getting a scholarship to pay the flight costs) I will go to Yale and do my research on the originals.FAStrubberg (talk) 13:56, 28 January 2012 (UTC)FAStrubberg[reply]

I'm impressed. I have worked on some articles for the English Wikipedia about the German people who came to Texas during that period. This is my creations by category list I've been keeping. This is the first time I've had input. Welcome input, I might add. For me, it's been like looking for a needle in a haystack., but I find the emigration such a fascinating story on the whole. There is seemingly no end to the interesting people who were involved in that. Unveil a story about one individual, place, or building - and more interesting aspects pop up. The story and its people would make a great epic movie. I understand what you are saying about Irene Marshall King. I believe her book is based on his personal papers, perhaps on family oral history, too. Of course, his papers would be telling his perspective of the people and events. Please, make any edits you deem necessary to the Strubberg article. Maile66 (talk) 14:21, 28 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

ReagenR

I'm not Reagan Rothenberger, I wish I was because I too enjoy his work. I've tried to contact him before but he never answered me. We both used to live in the Beaumont Metropolitan area and were probably the only two people that actually updated wiki from our area.

Sorry.
