Thank you for your note. As part of maintaining a neutral point of view, we treat each country's controlled zone as belonging to it: our Jammu and Kashmir article covers just the Indian side of the Line of Control, and our Azad Kashmir article just the Pakistani side. For that reason, these moves wouldn't be a good idea — they cover the entire region, both the Indian-controlled areas and the Pakistani-controlled areas. The effect of renaming would be to restrict each article's scope to one side or the other (in which case we ought to have two articles, versus having one right now) or to privilege one side over the other, and I don't suppose you'd prefer to see an article entitled "Culture of Azad Kashmir" that covers Srinagar, for example. Seeing that Urdu is a scheduled language of the Union, and seeing that it's used a good deal in Kashmir, please do not remove it. Nyttend (talk) 03:45, 14 December 2017 (UTC)

@Nyttend: But things like music , art , culture are from Hindus which have history of over 5000 years in Kashmir and still is. So mentioning of Sanskrit name is also important.Anmolbhat (talk) 09:39, 14 December 2017 (UTC)

If I'm wrong in saying it is not used extensively there, feel free to add it. An article should have the English name of its subject, plus the subject's name in any other language that's highly important to the subject. Nyttend (talk) 12:53, 14 December 2017 (UTC)
