Disambiguation link notification for November 16

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited The Complete Miles Davis at Montreux, you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages James Williams and John McLaughlin. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Thank you! This is my first time editing Wikipedia, I don't want to step on any toes; I'll gladly go with the consensus. TlonicChronic (talk) 01:00, 17 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I think, looking at the review after my own, this may be an uphill battle. 🇺🇦 FiddleTimtrent FaddleTalk to me 🇺🇦 07:51, 17 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
That's fair. I suppose the main thing I want is the chronology of the info box, which I could add to the incorporated article. I appreciated your attentive care. Do you happen to know why a bot has removed the album cover image from the article and draft twice now? And could you point me in the right direction to uploading album art properly formatted? Live at Montreaux is missing a cover. TlonicChronic (talk) 12:56, 17 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Chronologies

Hey! If you're going to create additional chronologies, do it by release year, as are the main chronologies. Internal consistency, per WP:MOS. 𝒮𝒾𝓇 𝒯𝑒𝒻𝓁𝑜𝓃 (talk | contribs) 08:37, 19 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Please stop with the disruptive edits. Live chronologies are one of the express purposes for extra chronologies. By simply hitting undo, you're removing all of my other work I've put into the articles, which I'm sure you wouldn't mean to do. TlonicChronic (talk) 12:47, 19 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I can work with you on correcting the live release string. 𝒮𝒾𝓇 𝒯𝑒𝒻𝓁𝑜𝓃 (talk | contribs) 15:04, 21 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I've been working on Wikipedia for almost 20 years, my friend. I'd say you'd be wise to listen to me... have a conversation, before restoring your well-intentioned but erroneous edits. 𝒮𝒾𝓇 𝒯𝑒𝒻𝓁𝑜𝓃 (talk | contribs) 15:44, 21 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Why, after twenty years, are you still getting banned for disruptive and rude behaviour? Why are you removing cited information? Why are you citing "MoS" instead of a specific page of style manual? You're making up your own style guide and enforcing it. TlonicChronic (talk) 15:50, 21 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Page moves

Hello, TlonicChronic,

I see that you are moving some articles multiple times which is unnecessary and can be seen as disruptive editing. Please think through a page move before you do it, double-check your spelling and make sure it is only done ONCE. There is no reason that you should need to move an article multiple times, creating unnecessary redirects.

If you have questions about page moving or editing on Wikipedia, please bring them to the Teahouse. Thank you. Liz Read! Talk! 05:11, 20 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you! Sorry, I originally had it without a comma to bring it into alignment with the standard on wiki, but there were three standards over five (or *seven) releases, and so I re-standardized with the comma. If you think I made an error, I'll gladly correct it, and I'll do my best not to double move next time! TlonicChronic (talk) 14:15, 20 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Some advice

MOS:INFOBOXSTYLE cites MOS:NBSP, which discourages its use in a table or infobox, as was once discouraged to me in my earlier time here. WP:MUSICRS says not to use AllMusic's sidebar as a source. MOS:OVERLINK says to avoid linking major examples of locations, like major cites readers will most likely be familiar with. 𝒮𝒾𝓇 𝒯𝑒𝒻𝓁𝑜𝓃 (talk | contribs) 16:01, 21 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Why don't you read NBSP and tell me where is says not to use line breaks? If you look at https://wp1.openzim.org/#/project/Album/articles?quality=FA-Class&importance=Top-Class, the best list of the best wikipedia articles on albums, you'll find most link cities and all of them have line breaks. So please stop. I won't cite AllMusic's sidebar (which isn't a sidebar anymore, btw), but are you actually serious that you think Miles electric period isn't jazz, or even fusion? Do you need me to cite Christgau instead for you? TlonicChronic (talk) 16:16, 21 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
" a break would never occur anyway)" ... You're not supposed to cite WP:OTHERSTUFF or WP:OTHERSTUFFEXISTS in these kinds of arguments... or insult editors in discussions... WP:CIVIL. 𝒮𝒾𝓇 𝒯𝑒𝒻𝓁𝑜𝓃 (talk | contribs) 16:28, 21 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
"and unnecessary in a short parameter value in an infobox (where a break would never occur anyway)."
As in, when they are short, it isn't necessary to add a break. Not that it is against MoS. It just wouldn't be necessary. TlonicChronic (talk) 16:43, 21 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
This isn't other stuff. We're arguing about the proper formatting for an album. That's the purview of Wikipedia:WikiProject Albums.
Project Albums rates articles by quality. I gave you the list of best quality articles on albums Wikipedia, which confirms that my use conforms the top A level standard. TlonicChronic (talk) 16:49, 21 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Also "insult editors in discussions..." so why did you call me a dick? TlonicChronic (talk) 16:50, 21 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

You haven't offered one single justification for your weird alignment of live Miles Davis releases, which mind you includes records with live dates that span different years, while using the release year for the main chronology and the year of recording in the other chronology. Just jarring. 𝒮𝒾𝓇 𝒯𝑒𝒻𝓁𝑜𝓃 (talk | contribs) 16:16, 21 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

then deal with that. Submit a request. You're intentionally trying to undo my specific work out of spite. It's really petty. TlonicChronic (talk) 16:18, 21 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Why would I want to spite you>? I don't even know you... 𝒮𝒾𝓇 𝒯𝑒𝒻𝓁𝑜𝓃 (talk | contribs) 16:28, 21 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I agree the live chronology isn't perfect. I'm actually trying to do something to get the Miles Davis discography and chronology more functional. There are many problems with it. The lack of differentiation between the 10"s 12"s live album and comps could be dealt with. But rather than a genuine attempt to help, you intentionally sabotage my efforts. TlonicChronic (talk) 16:32, 21 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
You're deliberately making bad faith accusations at me. All I've done in my interaction with you is disagree with your changes and explain why in my edit summaries, reverting back to what's been the status quo since I got those articles to their good- and -featured status years ago... show some respect and due diligence at the very least. Oh, and furthermore, now that you've reminded me, there is a WP:STATUSQUO principle that adheres here, in that, "To eliminate the risk of an edit war, do not revert away from the status quo ante bellum during a dispute discussion." 𝒮𝒾𝓇 𝒯𝑒𝒻𝓁𝑜𝓃 (talk | contribs) 19:19, 21 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Dark Magus

There is no side three and four. The previous version you undid was correct, per the images of the 1977 LP shown at Discogs: [1] 𝒮𝒾𝓇 𝒯𝑒𝒻𝓁𝑜𝓃 (talk | contribs) 19:23, 21 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Furthermore, 1977 LP would be a more stylistically consistent title than Original release, since the next listing is 1997 CD. Year + Format. WP:MOS calls for internal consistency. That would be more internally consistent. 𝒮𝒾𝓇 𝒯𝑒𝒻𝓁𝑜𝓃 (talk | contribs) 19:24, 21 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
