Hello, I'm Netherzone. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, Marie Laveau, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so. You can have a look at referencing for beginners. If you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Please do not add unsourced, original research or personal opinion to articles. Also Wikipedia itself cannot be used as a reference; it is considered unreliable. You would need to add a verifiable, published, independent source like a book (with page numbers) an academic journal article, newspaper article or the like. Thank you. Following up on Netherzone's comment, your latest edit to Marie Laveau replaced several reliable source citations with a citation of the Wikipedia article. This is not an acceptable citation practice. I can see you are editing as part of a class assignment, but please make sure you are also following Wikipedia's standards for encyclopedic tone and reliable sources. In the same vein, your addition about Laveau's tomb isn't in an encyclopedic style. Writing on Wikipedia is different from other types of writing; take a look at that link to get an idea of what's expected. For sources, look for ones that are more authoritative: academic journals, books, news media. A tour company may have some citable information, but it should be evaluated thoroughly and if a better source is available use that. Also, make sure your additions are in line with what is said elsewhere in the article (your mention of veneration of the tomb contrasts with the vandalism mentioned in the section that followed) and harmonize things if necessary. —Carter (Tcr25) (talk) 13:22, 15 April 2024 (UTC)

My apologies for the large revert at Marie Laveau, but your edits wiped out most all of the sources in the article. It looks like you were seeing a source version of the article and replaced all the referencing coding with bracketed numbers. It looks like you had some grammatical and other text edits in there too, but wiping out all the wikitext/code necessitated reverting things. Please go back in to the article and make your other changes, but don't make widescale deletions of sources. —Carter (Tcr25) (talk) 21:45, 16 April 2024 (UTC)
