Template:Odisha Sangeet Natak Akademi award

Award navbox with no parent article. ~WikiOriginal-9~ (talk) 18:22, 27 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Will write an article on the award soon ; it is the most important award in the field of culture in the state of Odisha and hence deserves to be kept. Prateek Pattanaik (talk) 04:08, 28 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Move to draft or user space. An article for an award should always come before a navigation template. You need an articlce to show the award is notable. Gonnym (talk) 06:48, 28 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Template:The Streak

This template doesn't have articles for the matches, only links to people whom the Undertaker performed with, I'm not sure this is something to have a navbox for. ★Trekker (talk) 17:44, 27 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

The tally in brackets next to each performer links to each WrestleMania event. JJARichardson (talk) 17:46, 27 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I don't find that to be a good reason to keep it. It would only make sense if each specific match had an article.★Trekker (talk) 19:03, 27 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Template:Kohistan-Union-Councils

Kohistan District has been divided into three districts; this template should be replaced with templates for those three districts.. Her Pegship (?) 17:30, 27 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Template:No footnotes section

No transclusions. Redundant to {{No footnotes|section}}. – Jonesey95 (talk) 17:15, 27 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

It is indeed redundant, but so is {{More citations needed section}}. I will however accept the deletion of the template. --MtPenguinMonster (talk) 04:52, 28 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Template:Infinity Train

WP:NENAN. Only two articles. --woodensuperman 16:49, 27 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Template:Ian Holm's Napoleon

WTF??? Bizarre. But definitely WP:PERFNAV. --woodensuperman 16:44, 27 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete. Ian Holm played Napoleon three times. That's the link. I have removed links to items that do not mention Holm's depiction of Napoleon. – Jonesey95 (talk) 16:21, 28 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Template:On KayakingandCanoeing

Outline articles aren't anything special. Being listed on one does not make an article more important. There are already WikiProject banners on pages using these, and {{Vital article}} on pages which are more "important". These just clutter the talk page and add to banner blindness. Gonnym (talk) 13:31, 27 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Let's take a look at your arguments. "Outline articles aren't anything special, and therefore banners to them should be deleted." So, delete, because you don't think they lead somewhere special? That's an "I don't like it" argument, and therefore an invalid reason for deletion. The next one is "The banner doesn't make the article more important, and so it should be deleted." Making an article more important is a thing? No, it's not. There is zero policy or guideline documentation on making articles more important. (To the contrary, trying to make an article seem more important smacks of POV pushing, and is against policy.) It looks like you just made these reasons up, rather than find policy-or-guideline-based criteria for deletion. Then you accuse them of being clutter and blinding the reader, when apparently you don't seem to know what purpose they serve. What are they for? Why were they made? Someone who apparently cared a lot about the overarching subjects conscientiously placed these banners. Is it to show editors where the parent topic is being organized so that they could help manage Wikipedia's coverage of it, or to lead editors to check if the topic is properly situated in the parent outline? Or was it for some other purpose? Until we know why the templates were placed, and what actual policy- or guideline-based deletion criteria are applicable, I'm opposed to deleting them.    — The Transhumanist   00:24, 28 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
when apparently you don't seem to know what purpose they serve I'm not going to assume good faith for the rest my comment. Their purpose is very claer since they are a one sentence banner - to improve the current article and to draw people to the outline article. I just disagree that the use of a banner is appropriate. Since you failed to read the text above in TfD, you'd see that there is a peice of text that says Templates for which none of these apply may be deleted by consensus here - often, a template does not violate any guideline or policy, but is just bad. In this case, these banners are somewhat redundant to the WikiProject banners and the Vitale article banner, clutter the top of the talk page, and add to Banner blindness. While you might not see this as an issue other editors do and TfD has been deleting banners similar to these for the same reasons. Gonnym (talk) 06:59, 28 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Template:Merge-Class

Obsolete. Category:Merge-Class articles was deleted as empty on 16 Nov by user:Explicit. – Fayenatic London 11:21, 27 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

  • I wrote this template, yonks and yonks ago. I can't quite remember why I ever created this. I don't think we use Merge-class in article grading any more (which is presumably why the category was deleted). This template's talk is a redirect, so not a lot of clues there either. All that adds up to Delete to me. ++Lar: t/c 01:04, 29 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Template:SL-Class

Template:World Team Carcassonne Online Championship

Unused as all articles were redirected at this AfD. Gonnym (talk) 10:40, 27 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete. Does not provide a navigation function per nom. --woodensuperman 11:09, 27 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Template:Frankie Bridge

Not really sure this is needed, largely unused and most of the articles covered by the group navboxes. --woodensuperman 09:28, 27 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
