The 1956 Fresno State Bulldogs football team represented Fresno State College[note 1] during the 1956 NCAA College Division football season.

The team was led by fifth-year head coach Clark Van Galder and played home games at Ratcliffe Stadium on the campus of Fresno City College in Fresno, California. They finished the season with the best record in the CCAA, but no champion was named. The team had a record of eight wins and two losses (8–2, 2–0 CCAA).
