The 1975 Tangerine Bowl was a college football postseason bowl game that featured the South Carolina Gamecocks and the Miami Redskins.

Background

Miami won their third straight Mid-American Conference title, in which they had won 31 games, lost 1, and tied one game. As for South Carolina, they were in their first bowl game since 1969.

Aftermath

The Redskins, though they won the MAC title the following year, did not get invited to a bowl game. Crum left for North Carolina after the 1977 season, and the team soon spiraled into a 7th-place finish by 1979. They did not reach a bowl again until 1986. They have not returned to the Citrus Bowl since this game. South Carolina returned to a bowl game in 1979, though they lost that game as well. They did not return to the Citrus Bowl until 2012.
