The 1997 Fresno State Bulldogs football team represented California State University, Fresno[note 1] during the 1997 NCAA Division I-A football season as a member of the Western Athletic Conference (WAC). The team was led by head coach Pat Hill, in his first year, and played home games at Bulldog Stadium in Fresno, California. They finished the 1997 season with a record of six wins, six losses (6–6, 5–3 WAC).
