Ashleigh Barty was the defending champion from when the event was last held in 2019, but she chose to play in Berlin instead; however, she had to withdraw from Berlin before the beginning of the tournament due to injury. It took place at the Edgbaston Priory Club in Birmingham, United Kingdom, on 13–20 June 2021.[1]
