42 Capricorni is a yellow G-type main sequence dwarf with a mean apparent magnitude of +5.16. It is approximately 106 light years from Earth. It is classified as an RS Canum Venaticorum type variable star and its brightness varies from magnitude +5.13 to +5.18.
