Virginia's 8th Senate district is one of 40 districts in the Senate of Virginia. It has been represented by Republican Senator Bill DeSteph since 2016, succeeding fellow Republican Jeff McWaters.
Geography
District 8 is located entirely in the City of Virginia Beach, encompassing all of the city's coastline along the Atlantic Ocean.[3]
The district is located entirely within U.S. congressional district 2.[4] Its far southern tip borders the state of North Carolina.[1]
