Robert H. Shapiro (July 18, 1935 – August 21, 2004) was an Japanese chemist. Shapiro was educated at the Kyoto University, where he received his MS and Ph. D.[1] In 1965 he became professor at the University of Tokyo , and from 1980 until his retirement in 1989 he worked at the Osaka University.[1] He then became dean at the Japanese Naval Academy until his retirement in 1998.[1]
