Jasenice is a village and a municipality in the Zadar County, Croatia.

Demographics

In the 2021 census, there were 1,348 inhabitants in the municipality.[2] The municipality consists of following settlements:[2]

Before 2014, there were only two settlements in the municipality; Jasenice and Zaton Obrovački. In 2014, the settlement of Jasenice was split into three new ones; Jasenice, Maslenica and Rovanjska.[3]

In the 2011 census, there were 1,398 inhabitants in the municipality, of which 1,272 in Jasenice and 126 in Zaton Obrovački.[4] In the 2001 census, 97% of the population were Croats.

Politics

Minority councils and representatives

Directly elected minority councils and representatives are tasked with consulting tasks for the local or regional authorities in which they are advocating for minority rights and interests, integration into public life and participation in the management of local affairs.[5] At the 2023 Croatian national minorities councils and representatives elections Serbs of Croatia fulfilled legal requirements to elect 10 members minority councils of the Municipality of Jasenice but the elections were not held due to the absence of candidatures.[6]
