Sung Han-bin (Korean성한빈; born on June 13, 2001), also known by the mononym Hanbin (Korean: 한빈), is a South Korean singer. He is best known for competing on the Mnet reality competition show Boys Planet, where he ranked second in the final episode, thus earning him a spot in the winning group, Zerobaseone.[1]

Early life

Sung was born on June 13, 2001, in Cheonan, Chungcheongnam-do, into a family consisting of his parents and a sister who's four years his junior. Sung specialises in waacking and tutting, which are dance forms he has been learning since middle school.[2][unreliable source?] Sung is a former Cube Entertainment trainee, and while training, he earned a barista license while working at his mother's café.[3]

He currently studies in the department of K-pop performance at Dong-ah Institute of Media and Arts.[4]

Career

2018–present: Career beginnings, Boys Planet and debut with Zerobaseone

Sung started his career as a backup dancer,[when?] and in 2018 he was part of a dance crew that performed with Wanna One to their song "Boomerang" at the SBS Gayo Daejeon. He was seen again at the 2019 MAMA Music Awards as a backup dancer for BTS's "Dionysus".[5][unreliable source?]

In February 2023, as a representative of his label Studio Gl1de, Sung participated in the competition series Boys Planet and finished in second place with 1,888,414 votes.[6] He was confirmed a place in the final group Zerobaseone and was soon elected as their leader on May 11.[7] On May 26, Wake One Entertainment confirmed that Zerobaseone will debut this July 2023.[8] On September 1, Sung was announced as the new host of Mnet's M Countdown.[9]
