Hanza (Persian: هنزا, also Romanized as Hanzā and Hanzā’; also known as Hanzar)[3] is a city in, and the capital of, Hanza District of Rabor County, Kerman province,[4] Iran, and also serves as the administrative center for Hanza Rural District.
At the 2006 census, its population was 2,388 in 506 households, when it was a village in the former Rabor District of Baft County).[5] The following census in 2011 counted 1,309 people in 415 households,[6] by which time the district had been separated from the county in the establishment of Rabor County.[7] The latest census in 2016 showed a population of 5,757 people in 1,770 households,[2] with the village having been elevated to the status of a city.[4]
