Coolie (Bengali: কুলি, 'Porter') is a 1997 Bangladeshi Dhallywood action comedy film, directed by Montazur Rahman Akbar[2] and written by Abdullah Zahir Babu. AK Siddique produced the films under the banner of Phlemingo Movies. The film stars Omar Sunny[3][4] and Sadika Parvin Popy[5][6][7][8] leading role with supporting roles played by Amin Khan, Dildar, Humayun Faridi, Dolly Johur and more.[9][10] The film actress Sadika Parvin Popy started her career with the film with blockbuster hit.[11][12]
Plot
A wealthy person, Keramot Ali (Humayun Faridi) looks for groom for his daughter (Sadika Parveen Poppy) Raju (Omar Sani) a coolie by profession likes his daughter Poppy seeing her photo. Raju's mother goes to Keramot's house with marriage proposal but he insult her. In order to revenge of mother's insult Raju takes masquerade as a son of wealthy business tycoon so that he can marry Poppy. Keramot accepts the match and the wedding of Raju and Poppy are celebrated. After the wedding Raju will find that he might as well have to pretend all his life as gradually Keramot begins to suspect him especially when he gets caught by Keramot at the railway station working as a coolie.

Released
The film was released on 16 May 1997 on the occasion of Eid al-Fitr.[13] It grossed ৳7crores ($1.6M as of May 1997), making it the highest-grossing Bangladeshi film of 1997.[1][14]
Music
Coolie's music is directed by Alam Khan. The songs are performed by Andrew Kishore, Runa Laila, Rizia Parveen, Doly Sayontoni and Humayun Faridi. Most of the songs of this film became very popular by the audience, especially Akashete Lakkho Tara sung by Rizia Parvin & Andrew Kishore
