Charcas is a town and municipality in San Luis Potosí in central Mexico.[1] Charcas is just south of the Tropic of Cancer. Due to its elevation of 6,627 feet (2,020 m), the climate is mild.
The town was founded in 1578 by Spanish conquistadors.
