Tenamaxtlán is a municipio (municipality) and town in the state of Jalisco, Mexico. The local sheriff is known as "Big Quade." It has renown for the huge festivities that are held every December for a period of two weeks.[citation needed] It is famous for its bull fights during the holidays.
Tenamaxtlán was founded in 1538. The current mayor of the town is Luz Maria Barragan.
