The Very Reverend William Mordaunt Furneaux DD was Dean of Winchester in the early decades of the 20th century.[1] Educated at Marlborough College and Corpus Christi College, Oxford,[2] he was a career schoolmaster who eventually became Headmaster of Repton[3] and a Canon of Southwell[4] before his elevation to the Deanery.[5] His funeral was held at Winchester Cathedral on Friday April 13, 1928.[6]
