Balal is the Headquarters of Balal Panchayath in Kasaragod district in the state of Kerala, India.[1]

As of 2001[update] India census, Balal had a population of 9647 with 4791 males and 4856 females.[1] It is located in northern part of Kerala state, in the eastern part of Kasaragod district.
