Kalewal Fattu is a small Indian village located in Hoshiarpur district. The Purewal clan can trace its origins to this village, among others.[citation needed] This village was settled by Rai Singh Purewal. He named it Kalewal Fattu after his son Fateh Singh Purewal, that is why it is called Kalewal Fattu, Fattu for Fateh. A prominent member of the clan include Manbiar Singh Purewal (AKA Mdog) now living in the UK.

The village is almost emptied out of people as most of them have migrated to countries like USA, Canada and England in search of a better life.
