Asus Zenfone Max Pro M2 is a smartphone developed by Asus. It was announced on 11 December 2018 and went on retail sale on 18 December 2018. Asus Zenfone Max Pro M2 caught consumers' attention for its notch design and use of Corning Gorilla Glass 6 in a lower-midrange phone.[1] The phone is notable for offering powerful performance, good design, large battery and Widevine DRM L1 certification.[2]

Design

Asus Zenfone Max Pro M2 comes with an attractive design having a glossy finish on the back. The display has a notch that houses LED flash, LED notification, earpiece, and front camera. The phone comes with 5000 mAh large battery but weighs only 175 grams. It comes in Blue and Titanium colors.

Hardware

The phone has a 6.26 inches display with 1080 x 2280 pixels resolution and 19:9 aspect ratio. The display also has Corning Gorilla Glass 6 protection to prevent scratches. The phone also has Widevine DRM L1 certification that means can watch HD content of different video streaming services like Netflix and Amazon Prime.

It has Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 octa-core processor with Adreno 512. The phone runs on Android 8.1 Oreo with pure Android experience. It comes in 3GB/4GB/6GB RAM with 32GB/64GB storage. The phone also has a dedicated card slot to expand storage.[3]

The phone has a dual camera on the back side and the camera setup has 12 megapixels primary camera along with 5 megapixels secondary depth camera. The rear camera can also record 4K videos. The presence of EIS also improves video recording. It also has 13 megapixels front camera with front LED flash. The front camera can record up to 1080p videos at 30fps.

The phone features dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS and micro USB. There is also a fingerprint sensor located on the back panel. It also comes with 5000 mAh large battery.[4]

Reception

It had been praised for being reliable and powerful mid-ranger.[5] BGR India listed Zenfone Max Pro M2 as one of the best smartphones of the year 2018.[6]
