Susan Eileen McDonald[1][2] (born 7 February 1970) is an Australian politician who was elected as a Senator for Queensland at the 2019 federal election.[3] She is a member of the Liberal National Party of Queensland and sits with the National Party in federal parliament. Prior to entering politics she worked as the managing director of Super Butcher, a meat retailer owned by her family cattle business MDH. During the LNP Newmann Government of 2012-2015 Senator McDonald was Chief of Staff to the Minister for Natural Resources & Mines. She also served a term as state secretary of the National Party of Queensland beginning in 2003.[4]
Her father, Don McDonald, was the president of Queensland National Party during the 1990s and the president of federal National Party from 1996 to 1999.[4][5] Her uncle, Bob McDonald, was a long-serving member of Cloncurry Shire Council, serving the council for 40 years.[citation needed]
