"Not Alike" is a song by American rapper Eminem from his album Kamikaze (2018).[2] It features guest vocals from American rapper Royce da 5'9". It has reached the top 40 in Australia, Canada, New Zealand, Sweden, and the United States.

Composition

The first beat of the song, produced by Tay Keith, interpolates BlocBoy JB's "Look Alive". The second beat, produced by Ronny J, is similar to many SoundCloud rap type beats. Eminem also imitates Migos' "Bad and Boujee" flow in the hook.[3] The song disses rapper Machine Gun Kelly, who called Eminem's daughter, Hailie Jade, "hot as fuck" in 2012. At the time, Kelly was 22 and Hailie was 16.[4]

Response

On September 3, 2018, Machine Gun Kelly released "Rap Devil", a response to Eminem. The song is produced by Ronny J, who also produced "Not Alike", as well as "The Ringer", another song from Kamikaze. As of June 2019, the music video has over 229 million views on YouTube.[5] On September 14, 2018, Eminem responded in kind, releasing the diss track "Killshot". As of June 2019, the official YouTube video (audio only) has over 278 million views.[6]
