Asim Azhar (Urdu: عاصم اظہر) is a Pakistani singer, songwriter, and actor. He started his career as a singer on YouTube, re-singing contemporary Western songs before he became a public figure.[2] When the cross-border situation worsened after the 2019 Pulwama attack, Azhar's plans with his record company, Universal Music India, came to a halt after Pakistani artists were banned from working in India in response.

Career

Born to Azhar Hussain, and actress Gul-e-Rana.[3][4] He became popular because of his songs recorded in Coke Studio 9.[5] [6] [7] His most recent song is the HBL PSL 5 Official Anthem "Tayyar Hain" along with Ali Azmat, Arif Lohar and Haroon. He recently[when?] received The Best Stylish Performer award at PSA[disambiguation needed] in Dubai.[citation needed] His song Jo Tu Na Mila featuring Iqra Aziz recently hits 100M views on Youtube making him fourth Pakistani singer to cross 100M views after Atif Aslam, Rahat Fateh Ali Khan and Momina Mustehsan.[8]. Asim is in a relationship with actress and model Hania Amir. [9]
