Template:Korean name Jang Yoon-jeong (Korean: 장윤정, born February 16, 1980) is a South Korean trot singer.[1] Jang debuted in 1999, but she did not become famous until 2004 when her single, "Eomeona!" ("Oh My Goodness!"), became a hit.[2] The song is credited with helping re-popularize trot music in South Korea.[3] In 2017, a Gallup Korea poll found that Jang was the third most popular singer in the country.[4]
Career
In April 2005, Jang debuted in Japan with the release of "Oh, My Goodness."[5]
On April 5, she became new MC of KBS program Escaping Danger Number One.[6] Her interview was spilled before the broadcast of Healing Camp, Aren't You Happy.[7]
In August 2014, Jang signed with agency KOEN Stars, home to MCs Lee Hwi-jae and Lee Kyung-kyu, after her former agency Inwoo Production closed down.[8][9]
Personal life
On June 29, 2013, she married news announcer Do Kyung-wan in Yeouido, Western Seoul.[10] Their son Yeon-woo was born on June 13, 2014 and was once one of the babies featured on the popular reality show The Return of Superman.[11][12] The couple also has a daughter, Ha-young, born November 8, 2018.[13]
