Ekma is a Tehsil town and Taluka of Sobhan Chappra in Saran district[1] of Bihar state, India. It is one of the developing and growing business towns in Saran district.[citation needed] This town is a local business hub for material such as timber, hardware and other building construction items.[citation needed] It has three branches of nationalised banks and a post office.

Location and communications

The district Headquarters is Chhapra, about 30km from here. Siwan is 35 km. National Highway No. 85 connects Ekma to Chhapra and Siwan.

Ekma Railway station is in the mid of town. About 11 daily trains stop here.

Services and facilities

State bank of India, Central Bank of India and Uco bank are nationalised banks in Ekma. Bandhan bank have also a branch here.

There is one playground in Block area of Ekma.

There are three water tanks. Alakh Narayan Singh High School is a matric level State board school, affiliated to CBSE Jyoti Central, located on NH 85. There is a good college, from where students appear Intermediate exam named Yamuna Singh College, which is also located on NH 85.

Many essential goods are sold at Ekma market, and a wide range of services is available here. There is also a cinema hall in the town named JSC Cineplex.
