V. Saroja is an Indian politician and former Member of Parliament elected from Tamil Nadu. She was elected to the Lok Sabha from Rasipuram constituency as an All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam candidate in 1998, and 1999 elections.[1][2]

Jayalalithaa appointed Saroja as Minister for Social Welfare in May 2016. This was her first cabinet post in the Government of Tamil Nadu.[3]

Early life

Dr. V. Saroja was born in Ujanur which belongs to the district of Salem in Tamil Nadu on 12 June 1948 to Shri M. Vellayan and Smt. Kandammal.
