John Jurasek[3] (born June 21, 1997),[citation needed] better known as Reviewbrah, is an American YouTube personality, food critic and radio host. Jurasek reviews frozen food, fast food and energy drinks on his YouTube channel TheReportOfTheWeek, and hosts a radio show on shortwave radio and SoundCloud. He has been featured by several media outlets, including CNN Money, New York Magazine, Forbes and Lenta.ru.[4][5][6][7] Jurasek was also a guest on The Needle Drop Podcast in October 2015[8] and made an appearance on an episode of the television program Tosh.0 in March 2016.[9]

Jurasek is famous for dressing in 1980s and 1990s style suits, his calm and polite character, his extensive vocabulary, his vocal inflection and his altogether urbane demeanor.[original research?] During his college years, he studied at St. Thomas Aquinas College. Before he studied here, he went to Pearl River High School in New York

YouTube

Establishing his YouTube channel in 2011,[4] Jurasek's initial focus was on a series of energy drink reviews known as Energy Crisis.[10] He has since diversified to include a food review series, Running On Empty, which focuses on fast food and ready-made meals.[11] A third, as yet unnamed series focuses on reviewing specialty drinks.[12]

As of August 2020, Jurasek's YouTube channel, TheReportOfTheWeek, has over 1.9 million subscribers and 175 million views.[13]

Regarding the type of food items featured in his reviews he has stated, "Is every average American going to be eating a steak dinner every night? No. Fast food though, well, there's usually a McDonald's every half-mile... I want to be applicable to the largest number of people."[14]

Jurasek released a video in April 2019 to finally answer the question that had been plaguing the YouTube community for years. His alternate name, Reviewbrah, was given to him due to the direct result of his videos being posted and shared in bodybuilding forums, within which there was a culture of referring to each other as brah. Hence he was christened with the name Reviewbrah by his fans from the bodybuilding community and to this day he is revered by them and remains an influential figure within the world of bodybuilding and YouTube.[15]

Radio

In addition to his YouTube offerings, Jurasek hosts a weekly shortwave radio program, VORW Radio International. The program has been transmitted primarily by WBCQ, WWCR and WRMI.[16][17] The program runs for around one hour and features commentary and listener-requested music. The show also features regular shoutouts, '20s humor and responses to listener messages, encouraging a community aspect that Jurasek cites as being more positive than his YouTube viewers.

As of February 2019 Jurasek has also begun uploading regular podcasts and live streams to YouTube via his channel “VORW Podcast” which has accumulated over 59,000 subscribers as of April 2020.
