The station previously aired a locally-programmed Christian format branded as 98.7 The Song. In December 2017, the university announced its intent to sell WQME.[1][2] On May 31, 2018, the station ceased local programming, switching to the Educational Media Foundation's Air1 network. It is not yet known if the university plans to sell WQME to EMF outright.[3]
