The 2020–21 LigaPro will be the 31st season of Portuguese football's second-tier league, and the seventh season under the current LigaPro title. A total of 18 teams will compete in this division, including reserve sides from top-flight Primeira Liga teams.

A total of 18 teams contest the league, including 14 sides from the 2019–20 season, 2 teams relegated from the 2019–20 Primeira Liga and 2 promoted from the 2019–20 Campeonato de Portugal.

Notes:
  1. ^ a b c d Vitória de Setúbal and Desportivo das Aves (16th and 18th placed teams in the 2019–20 Primeira Liga) were punished by the Portuguese Football Federation for failing to produce valid licensing documentation with direct relegation to the 2020-21 Campeonato de Portugal.[1]
  2. ^ a b The Portuguese Court of Arbitration for Sport (TAD), by request of Olhanense, suspended the Portuguese Football Federation (FPF) decision of promoting Arouca and Vizela from the 2019-20 Campeonato de Portugal to 2020-21 LigaPro.[2]
  3. ^ The two best-ranked non-reserve teams of the LigaPro and the six best-ranked teams of the 2020–21 Primeira Liga at the end of November 2020 will compete in the 2020–21 Taça da Liga.[3]
