Acevedo is a Spanish surname which means a grove of holly trees or hollywood; the Spanish word for holly is acebo. As a consequence of colonization, it is widely spread in all Spanish-speaking countries of Latin America. There is also the Acebedo variant, whose origin resides in the Asturian municipality of Acebedo, Spain. Its Portuguese equivalent is Azevedo. Notable people with the surname include:
