"The Other Guy" is a song by Australian soft rock band Little River Band. It was an advance single from their 1982 Greatest Hits album. The song also introduced the band's new lead vocalist, John Farnham, who replaced Glenn Shorrock.[1]

Released in November 1982, "The Other Guy" reached the Top 20 in Australia and the Netherlands. It peaked at number 11 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100[2] and number eight on the Cash Box Top 100 during February 1983.[3] The song also reached number 6 on the Adult Contemporary chart. It made a lesser showing in Canada, but reached both the Pop and AC charts. It did best in New Zealand, where it spent two weeks at number 2.[4]
