Zach Steinberger (born May 10, 1992) is an American soccer player who currently plays for Tampa Bay Rowdies in the USL Championship.
Career
College and amateur
Steinberger spent his entire college career at Butler University between 2011 and 2014, where he achieved 2013 First Team All-Big East and 2013 Big East All-Tournament.[1]
Steinberger also played for Michigan Bucks in the Premier Development League between 2012 and 2014.[2]
Professional
On January 15, 2015, Steinberger was selected in the first round (8th overall) of the 2015 MLS SuperDraft by the Houston Dynamo.[3]
Steinberger made his professional debut on March 28, 2015 as a 69th-minute substitute during a 0-0 draw against Colorado Rapids.[4] Steinberger made his 2 first professional goals of his career on September 5, 2015 on loan to Indy Eleven against Jacksonville Armada FC.[5]
Steinberger was loaned to Jacksonville Armada [6] June 29, 2016 for the remaining of the season and scored four goals and four assists.
Following his release from Houston, Steinberger signed with Jacksonville Armada permanently on February 17, 2017 where he scored 8 goals and 2 assists and awarded NASL goal of the year.[7][8][9]
Steinberger signed with USL side Indy Eleven for the 2018 season on January 31, 2018.[10]
On December 5, 2018, Steinberger joined USL Championship side Tampa Bay Rowdies.[11]
