The BSP enjoys a long and successful history as a provider of British Education in Paris. Founded by Mary J. Cosyn, who was also the first head, it was acquired, upon her retirement, by the non-profit making Association for British Education in Paris. As an independent fee-paying school it is governed by a board of voluntary governors, who are also members of the association, and it enjoys the patronage of HE the British Ambassador to France.
