Papicha is a 2019 internationally co-produced drama film directed by Mounia Meddour. It was screened in the Un Certain Regard section at the 2019 Cannes Film Festival.[2] It was selected as the Algerian entry for the Best International Feature Film at the 92nd Academy Awards, but it was not nominated.[3]
Plot
In the 1990s, a fashion design student resists religious extremism during the Algerian Civil War.[3]
